Research notes
Family hand-tufting studio on Bannow Bay. The Irish Times says Denis Kenny and Fiona Gilboy took over a small hearth-rug business in Wexford in 1981 that had been founded by Tom Ceadogán, a dyehouse master. Makes hand-tufted rugs in wool and other natural yarns; long association with designs by the modernist painter Mainie Jellett; 2022 artist-rug auction (Sean Scully and others) to fund a regenerative project; a rug in Ireland's 2025 Venice Biennale pavilion. Second generation took over in 2020. Why it matters: a small-scale European hand-tufting studio of the Kramis type, with art collaborations in the V'Soske tradition. Dates conflict: 1981 (Irish Times, Image.ie) vs 1989 (Homo Faber, Wexford County Council). The company's own site gives no founding history page.
