Research notes

Founded to keep Chinese carpet craft alive and employ refugees. First workshop in Tuen Mun (1956); main factory in Tai Po from 1959. The early breakthrough was switching from hand-knotting to hand-tufting; engineer Anthony Yeh developed a motorised hand-tufting gun (dated 1960 by a trade source, motorised 1973 per the Hong Kong Heritage Project). Later machine-tufted carpet; today residential, hospitality, aviation and yacht work. Dates: 1956 and founders confirmed; gun date conflicting (1960 vs 1973 motorisation). Don't say Tai Ping "invented hand-tufting".
