Research notes

"Practice of tufting using hand & electric gun" (ECT-551 practical); "tufting equipments used e.g. (tufting frame, tufting gun etc.) Schortz hand tufted machine". The manual tool is taught as first-class technique. Citation check (Oct 2026, from search results; pages not opened): confirmed. Both phrases ('practice of tufting using hand & electric gun'; tufting frame, tufting gun, 'Schortz hand tufted machine') are in the IICT-hosted file. It is labelled OLD syllabus and issued by U.P. Technical University, not directly by the Government of India. The course code ECT-551 was not seen in snippets. IICT runs under the Ministry of Textiles (DC Handicrafts). Source: U.P.
