Research notes
~25 years old. 30 lakh kg of recycled yarn a day, ~200 spinning mills, ~70,000 workers (The Tribune, 2025); ₹7,000 crore of carpets exported a year (Amar Ujala, 2023). The cheap tufted rug and the recycled-fibre industry are the same story. Citation check (Oct 2026, from search results; pages not opened): partly confirmed. Confirmed in Tribune: over 30 lakh kg/day of recycled yarn, and about 200 spinning mills (another version of the story says 150). NOT found: ~70,000 workers, '~25 years old', and Amar Ujala 2023's ₹7,000 crore of carpet exports. Other Tribune pieces give Panipat's total exports as ₹18,000–20,000 crore, all textiles.
