Research notes

The Google Patents abstract describes an electric tufting gun: a small motor, a gear-transmission box, a braking part, a movable connecting-rod part, a needle-barrel part and a needle-tip part, for carpet-weaving machinery. With CN2723478Y it shows that Chinese electric hand guns were being patented in 2004–05, the period of the export hand-tufted rug trade, well before the TikTok "poke-poke" (戳戳秀) revival. Verified Oct 2026 by web search only. patents.google.com and Espacenet could not be opened from the sandbox, so I did not read the document itself. The title, filing date and abstract come from Google Patents search snippets. I did not see the publication date (probably 2006) or the applicant. Research note (Oct 2026): found through search results; the patent document itself wasn't opened. The Patent drawings job fetches the document from Google Patents; if drawings appear on this record, the number is confirmed.
