Research notes

This is the patent behind the "Hartleb" gun, the second German hand gun that Wilcom's patents name alongside Hofmann. US8225727 and EP2077348 describe "a traditional hand tufting gun for instance, Hofmann™ or Hartleb™, each of which are limited to tufting along an outline at a constant pile height". EP1674605 and US7218987 cite "the Hartleb (see DE 2,815,801)" gun as having a cutter that can be engaged and disengaged by hand. No company named Hartleb turned up in searches, so Hartleb may have been an individual inventor or a small firm. Verified Oct 2026 by web search only. patents.google.com and Espacenet could not be opened from the sandbox, so I did not read the document itself. Number, assignee and dates come from Google Patents citation and family rows as summarised in search results. The English title is Google's translation. Research note (Oct 2026): found through search results; the patent document itself wasn't opened. The Patent drawings job fetches the document from Google Patents; if drawings appear on this record, the number is confirmed.
