Handheld electric tufting guns sold by Tuft the World, which calls them "tufting machines". The product pages name no other maker; Tim Eads, a founder of Tuft the World, gives the supplier as Tuft the World itself (see finding-ttw-gun-suppliers). AK-I Cut-Pile Tufting Machine (now archived; product record created 23 April 2018): an "electric cut-pile machine" with adjustable cut-pile height of 7–18 mm, speed of 5–43 stitches per second, aluminium construction, a "Japanese motor", weight 3 lb (1.4 kg) and universal voltage (100–240 V). The page calls it "our bestselling electric cut-pile machine" and "a lightweight, low-pile machine perfect for any tufter, from beginners to the most advanced". Last listed price $150. AK-II Loop-Pile Tufting Machine (now archived; record created 23 April 2018): loop pile, 4–13 mm, 5–45 stitches per second, 3 lb (1.4 kg), 100–240 V, "for a polished, punch-needle look" and "Perfect for beginning and advanced tufters alike." Last listed price $150. KRD-I Cut- and Loop-Pile Tufting Machine (now archived; record created 30 March 2021): switches between cut pile (9–18 mm) and loop pile (6–12 mm); 4 lb 10 oz (2.09 kg), "quite a bit heavier than the AK-I or AK-II"; 110 V. The page calls it a "much-improved version" of the ZQ-II, "a past Tuft the World product", and recommends it for "intermediate and advanced tufters". Last listed price $175. The Duo (on sale; record created 20 May 2022): electric, switchable between cut and loop pile, in three fixed pile ranges sold as separate versions: low 8–16 mm ($199), medium 20–30 mm ($225) and high 35–45 mm ($260); 5–43 stitches per second; 3 lb (1.4 kg); 100–240 V. The page says "Most beginners start with Low Pile" and calls the high-pile version "the closest you can get to the AK-III look without needing an air compressor". It is also sold in a Tufting Starter Kit with frame and cloth. AK5 (on sale; record created 3 April 2024): switchable cut and loop pile, both fixed at 16 mm ("pile height cannot be adjusted on this machine"); 5–43 stitches per second; a digital speed readout and a front LED light; 3 lb (1.4 kg); 100–240 V; $250. Dates are the creation dates of the product records in the store's Shopify system, not confirmed first-sale dates. The AK-I and AK-II records have the web addresses "cut-pile-tufting-gun" and "loop-pile-tufting-gun", so their titles may have been changed since 2018.
