Research notes

Collection guide: Lynch was "a textile chemist at the DuPont Company from 1954 to 1994" in the Textile Fibers Department, "providing technical service focusing on nylon and rayon dyeing and finishing, specific areas of type 501 nylon, staple nylon carpet dyeing, tricot finishing". The papers deal mainly with customer relations and technical assistance to customers. Why it matters: Nylon chapter: technical-service papers on "type 501 nylon" and nylon carpet dyeing from the launch years; may show how mills (including tufters) were helped to use carpet nylon. Tagged possible; folder list not yet read. Found: Hagley finding aids, search "nylon carpet", 2026-10-28.
