Trade catalogue. WinterCat: Chicago, Gibbs, [ca. 1887]; 32 p., ill.; note "Established in 1875." Subjects: Rugs, Hooked -- Patterns -- Catalogs. Why it matters: Hand tools: a dated catalogue (c. 1887) selling "rug machines" alongside hooks, a year after Ross's 1886 punch hook; the same firm's c. 1890 catalogue calls its tool a "fabric tufting machine" (NK2799 G44a TC). Answers in part the open question "a dated punch-needle tool besides Ross's 1886 punch hook", pending a look at the illustrations.
