Trade catalogue. WinterCat: [Toledo, OH : The Company] 1886; 31 p., col. ill. (The bracketed title is the cataloguer's; "[E. Ross & Co., 1886]" added here to tell it from the 1891 catalogue.) Winterthur also holds "Rug patterns" (1889, NK2799 R82 TC; also Mic. 2437.15; "Includes illustrations of 56 rug patterns") and the 1891 catalogue (NK2799 R82b TC) with a laid-in brochure "The Ross & Co's rug machine in use". Why it matters: Hand tools: the Ross firm sold the 1886 punch hook ("rug machine"); this is its catalogue from the same year, and may illustrate the tool.
