Research notes

Photograph. DLG description: "Dalton, 1951. Modern tufting plant built ca. 1950 and located at 418 South Glenwood Avenue." (Plant name not given.) Why it matters: Building the machine / Dalton: a dated exterior of a purpose-built tufting mill of c. 1950, the years the first broadloom-width machines arrived. Company could be identified from the address in the 1951 Dalton city directory (also on DLG). Found: Digital Library of Georgia, search "tufted", 2026-10-28.
