Research notes

Photograph. DLG description: "Bartow County, U.S. Highway 41, June 1940. Roadside stand featuring hand-tufted chenille bedspreads and souvenirs." Two related photographs (brt120, brt121, dated 1940/1943): "Bartow County, early 1940s. Chenille bedspreads. Note patterns." (from field notes). Why it matters: Dalton bedspreads, open question on roadside spread sales: a dated (June 1940) roadside stand on "Bedspread Boulevard" (U.S. 41), with close views of patterns. Found: Digital Library of Georgia, search "chenille bedspread", 2026-10-28.
