Research notes

Photograph. Catalogue description: "1946 model tufting machine with enclosed top housing and full-time lubrication system. Identification plate on right side of machine identifies manufacturer as Cobble Brothers Manufacturing, Chattanooga, TN." Date: 1946. Why it matters: Building the machine: a dated 1946 Cobble multi-needle machine, with the maker's plate; photographs of early Chattanooga machines are an open question. Found: Bandy Heritage Center (PastPerfect), search "tufting machine", 2026-10-28.
