Research notes

This adds dates to co-delos. In October 2013 AIN reported that Delos had launched an aircraft-carpet division using a custom-made robotic tufting machine able to make seamless carpet up to 13.5 by 60 feet. Home Accents Today's report on the 2016 Delos lookbook said robotic tufting machines speed up the process, but about 85% of the work is still done by craftsmen; most custom rugs ship within six weeks, in sizes up to 14 by 60. In September 2021 Delos bought Masland's US custom area-rug department equipment (Textile World), and earlier Masland material describes rugs as 'machine tufted and hand finished in the U.S.' This is the clearest dated evidence of a US custom-rug maker adopting CNC/robotic tufting. Whether Delos's machine was Wilcom, EFAB or built in-house is not stated.
