Research notes

The German Wikipedia sentence carries no footnote; every other German page repeating it is a mirror. Do not repeat as fact. Even if true it would be a nylon first, not a tufting first. The firm is real (Longlife Teppichboden, Nettetal, in the old Niedieck plush-and-velvet district), so the shape is plausible; it just has no source. Citation check (Oct 2026, from search results; pages not opened): confirmed. The sentence exists on de.wikipedia 'Teppichboden', and no second, independent source for the 1952 claim was found. That is consistent with the brief, but the absence of a footnote could not be seen directly. The firm is real: 'Longlife Teppichboden Berndt Cleven GmbH & Co', 41334 Nettetal (DIBt approval document). Nettetal-Lobberich's velvet/silk history is on de.wikipedia.
