Research notes
Three spreads showing the two basic chenille looks: - Line tufting: continuous rows of cut pile drawing a tulip and scrolls in two greens on white (beside it, a white spread with a blue diamond lattice and blue dots). - Dot tufting: separate tufts in rows, as in the red-and-tan floral with a diamond border, and a dense all-over yellow-orange floral (detail shows the fluffed cut ends of each tuft). Useful for showing how the same needle-and-cutter technique gives either drawn lines or stippled dots, and how close rows build solid areas. Record accession numbers, labels and dates on a return visit.
