This is the most significant Chinese gun-tufting machine patent found: a tufting head carried on a servo-driven X–Y displacement mechanism, with a built-in yarn-cutting mechanism so cut and loop pile can be switched freely. In effect it is a robotised hand gun, the Chinese equivalent of Wilcom's EP1674605. It ties a Chinese Academy of Sciences automation institute to a Yiwu (Zhejiang) hand-tufted carpet maker, so Yiwu was a hand-tufting centre before the hobby era. Its "3D" refers to sculpted pile. Verified Oct 2026 by web search only. patents.google.com and Espacenet could not be opened from the sandbox, so I did not read the document itself. The applicants, filing date and lapsed B status come from Google Patents snippets for the A and B publications. Research note (Oct 2026): found through search results; the patent document itself wasn't opened.
