Research notes
This is the British filing of Joseph L. Card's patterned-tufting apparatus, held in the database as US2935037A (pat-us2935037a). It was filed in Britain in 1957, about the time Cobble opened its Blackburn subsidiary. Grace's Guide says a wholly-owned Cobble Brothers Machinery subsidiary was set up in Blackburn in 1955 and became Singer-Cobble in 1960. A Cotton Town caption says Cobble took over Albert Mill in 1956. The two dates conflict. Verified Oct 2026 by web search only. patents.google.com and Espacenet could not be opened from the sandbox, so I did not read the document itself. The GB number, title and publication date come from Google Patents family and citation rows. I did not see the assignee on the GB record. Research note (Oct 2026): found through search results; the patent document itself wasn't opened. The Patent drawings job fetches the document from Google Patents; if drawings appear on this record, the number is confirmed.
