Research notes

The core ColorPoint patent: coordinates yarns of different colours on a tufting machine so that only the selected colour shows at each stitch, giving computer-placed multicolour patterns on broadloom machines. Continuations: US8359989 (stitch distribution control, 29 Jan 2013), US8776703 (15 Jul 2014), US9410276 and US10443173; European EP2100994. It was the patent asserted in Card-Monroe v. Tuftco (see event-cmc-v-tuftco-2017). The application predates the 2009 launch. Verified Oct 2026 from Google Patents snippets and a court opinion summary (vLex).
